We offer assessments and reports for children and adults ages 6 years and over.

Cognitive assessments investigate a person's general thinking and reasoning abilities, also known as intellectual functioning or IQ. Cognitive assessments can be helpful in education, employment, or disability settings, and may be recommended for a number of reasons, including:

  • Investigating overall IQ level, including identifying strengths and weaknesses;

  • Determining learning or processing difficulties and helping develop strategies and recommendations; and

  • Assessing for the presence of conditions such as intellectual giftedness, specific learning disabilities, intellectual disability, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

The assessments we administer include:

  • Clinically structured DSM-5 interviews

  • WISC-V

  • WAIS-IV

  • WIAT-III

  • WMS-IV

  • Connors 4

  • Brown EF/A

  • MMPI; and

  • Others as clinically required.

Assessment process

Our admin team will book your initial 90-minute interview with your psychologist. After this appointment, your psychologist will let you know the plan to proceed and offer you a quote. The plan will outline:

  • Further interviews with the client and other parties that may be required (e.g. parents, spouse, teachers, employer as appropriate);

  • School or employment observations;

  • Formal assessments administered; and

  • 1-hour feedback session and a copy of the report.

Paying for your assessment

When you book your initial session you will be asked to provide credit or debit card details that will be stored securely in our practice management system. You can choose to pay the total fee upfront or enter into a payment plan. Your account must be settled before the feedback session and release of your report.

Please note, Medicare rebates do not cover assessments of this type.

Private health insurance

If you have health insurance, please contact your insurance company for information about your coverage and their claims process.

NDIS

If you have a self-managed or plan-managed NDIS package, please speak with your plan manager about funding availability.
